How does the free trial work? Do I need a card?

14 days, no credit card. During the trial you get everything in Growth, including takeoff, purchasing, time tracking and the subcontractor portal. When it ends there are 24 more hours, then the account becomes read-only until you choose a plan: you can still open every job, you just cannot add or change anything. Nothing is deleted. If you choose a plan with a few days of trial left, Stripe saves your card and the first charge comes on the day the trial would have ended.

What counts as an active project?

A job marked Active or On hold. Mark a job Complete or Archived and it stops counting, and the slot is free again straight away. Leads and estimates do not count until a proposal is signed and becomes a job. Team members are the people you invite to the app, counted from the moment the invite is sent. Clients in the client portal and sub-trades in the subcontractor portal are not team members.

What happens when I hit a limit?

Nothing is deleted and nothing is locked. You cannot start one more active job, or invite one more person on a plan with a seat limit, until you finish or archive a job or move up a plan. The message says which plan would do it. If a client tries to sign a proposal while you are at your job limit, they see a short note to contact you, with nothing about your plan. The proposal is untouched, and they can sign it once there is room.

Can I change plans?

Yes, from Settings, Billing. Moving up takes effect straight away, and the difference for the rest of the month is charged then. Moving down takes effect at your next renewal, and you keep your current plan until then. Or write to support@ridgepole.ca and we will change it for you.

Question 5

How do I cancel, and what happens after?

Accepted Answer

Cancel any time from Settings, Billing. There is no contract and no cancellation fee. You keep full access to the end of the period you have paid for. Fees are not refunded for part months. After that the account stops working except for billing and report exports, and under our Terms your data stays available for export for 30 days before it is deleted.

Do you help me get set up?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on every plan, at no charge. When you sign up, a guided setup takes you through your company and province, the address and GST/PST numbers printed on your invoices, your logo and colour, your tax, holdback and payment-term defaults filled in from your province, and inviting your team. A Finish setting up checklist on the dashboard keeps track of the rest. One-on-one onboarding with us is included too.

Is there annual billing or a setup fee?

Accepted Answer

No. Every plan is month to month, with no annual contract and no setup fee. The price on the card is the price.

Question 8

Are prices in Canadian dollars? What about tax?

Accepted Answer

Prices are in Canadian dollars. Our Terms say applicable GST/HST/PST is added to the subscription. Your invoices are in Settings, Billing, under Manage billing, for your own books.

Question 9

Does Ridgepole take a cut of client payments?

Accepted Answer

No. When a client pays an invoice online, the money goes into your own Stripe account. Stripe charges its own processing fee. Ridgepole adds nothing on top.
