What Ridgepole connects to

The connections a Canadian builder actually uses, built properly for Canadian tax and holdback.

  • Payments

    Available

    Stripe online payments

Clients pay your invoices online, by card or by Canadian bank debit, into your own Stripe account.

    • Set up from Settings. You connect your own Stripe account, and the money is paid out to your bank by Stripe.
    • Clients pay by card. Pre-authorized debit from a Canadian bank account is offered once Stripe switches it on for your account.
    • A payment is recorded against the invoice by itself. Stripe charges its own processing fee, and Ridgepole takes no cut.
    • Jobs you run on paper print no pay link, so a paper client is never sent somewhere they cannot use.
    • Card and bank details go straight to Stripe and never touch Ridgepole’s servers.

    QuickBooks Online

Ridgepole sends your invoices, payments and bills to your Canadian QuickBooks Online company, holdback and sales tax included, so your bookkeeper stops typing them in twice.

    • Sends client invoices and holdback releases, client payments, supplier bills and what you pay on them, and sub-trade payments with the holdback you kept back.
    • Holdback goes to its own Holdback Receivable and Holdback Payable accounts. Each progress claim carries its holdback line, and the release invoice clears it.
    • Each line goes with the QuickBooks tax code that charges its GST or HST and PST, matched by rate, never by name.
    • Clients, jobs, suppliers and sub-trades are set up in QuickBooks for you. A client or supplier already there under the same name is linked, not added twice.
    • A setup screen fills in suggested accounts from your company. You choose the income account, where client payments go, the expense account for each kind of job cost (labour, materials, subcontractors and the rest), and the bank and card accounts payments come out of.
    • You choose the date sending starts from. Nothing dated before it is sent.
    • Syncs every hour, or when you choose Sync now. Anything that needs a decision waits on a review list with plain choices.

    Price Clipper

A Chrome extension that saves a supplier’s price straight into your cost catalog while you browse.

    • Open a product page, click the clipper, check the name, price, unit and supplier, and save.
    • Reads product pages from Home Depot Canada, RONA, Kent, Windsor Plywood, Princess Auto and Canadian Tire. On other sites it makes its best guess, and you correct it before saving.
    • If the item is already in your catalog, it offers to update that price instead of making a second copy.
    • Connects with a code you create in Settings, and you can switch a code off at any time.

    Lead forms on your website

A short enquiry form you put on your own website. Each enquiry lands in your lead pipeline.

    • Ridgepole gives you a snippet to paste into your site.
    • Enquiries arrive as leads, not as another email to sort.

    Client financing link

Point clients to your own lender from their portal, with the amount owing filled in.

    • You choose the lender and paste the link they gave you. Ridgepole has no agreement or referral fee with any lender.
    • The link carries the amount and a reference number. Your client’s name, email and address are never sent to the lender.
    • Anything the client enters on the lender’s site is between them and the lender.
  • Getting started

    Available

    Spreadsheet import

Bring your cost catalog and sub-trades in from Excel or a CSV file, and your suppliers too on Growth and Enterprise.

    • Columns are matched from your headings, in English or French, and you can correct any match.
    • You see every row as it will be imported, and what will happen to it, before anything is saved.
    • Rows that could not be imported are listed and can be downloaded, fixed and tried again.
  • Reports

    Available

    CSV exports

Your reports download as CSV files that open in Excel, Google Sheets or your accountant’s software.

    • Costs, budgets, estimated against actual, profitability and labour.
    • Time entries, purchasing and accounts payable.
    • Sales tax charged on invoices and paid on supplier bills, for your returns.
    • Exports keep working even if your subscription lapses, so your records are never held back.
  • Email

    Available

    Email under your company name

Proposals, invoices and portal invitations go out under your company’s name, and replies come to you.

    • The sender name is your company, and the reply-to is the address you choose in Settings.
    • Emails use your company’s colour, and end with your own signature if you set one in Settings.
