Documents

Revision C is the one everybody opens.

Drawings, specs, permits, contracts and shop drawings filed on the job they belong to. Upload a new revision and it goes on top, the old ones stay in the history, and your client only ever sees the current one.

On every plan

Folders on the job

Each job has its own folders: Drawings, Permits, Contracts, whatever you file by. Folders are one level deep, because nobody on site digs three folders down on a phone.

The office uploads from a desk. The crew can upload from a phone too, so the photo of the signed delivery slip goes onto the job instead of into someone’s camera roll.

Versions, without renaming files

Upload a file with the same name into the same folder and it becomes the next version of that document, not a second copy. The newest is the one that opens. Every earlier version is still there in the history if you need to show what changed and when.

Sharing with your client, and with anyone else

Mark a document visible to your client and it appears in their portal. They see the latest version only. Upload a new revision and that is what they see next time; unshare it or delete it and their old link stops working.

For someone who is not on the job, an inspector, a lender, an architect, create a share link that expires after 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days.

Built for how it works in Canada

Where your files are stored

The application and its database run in Montreal, and uploaded documents and photos are stored with Google Cloud in the United States. It is written here, on the page, so you can answer a client who asks without hunting through a privacy policy.

Shop drawings, not submittals

Name folders the way you talk. Ridgepole does not impose a US filing structure or a 48-division code list on your documents.

Questions builders ask

Does my client see every document on the job?

No. Every document starts private. Your client only sees the ones you mark visible, and only the latest version of each.

What happens to old versions?

They stay in the document’s history. The newest is the one that opens by default.

Can I send a drawing to someone without giving them a login?

Yes. Create a share link that expires after 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days.

Who can delete documents?

The owner, admins and project managers. Field users can upload but cannot delete.
